About the Library Online Center

The Dallas Public Library Online Center is located on the first floor of the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library. The Online Center consists of 20 workstations available for use to library patrons. Library staff members are available to assist patrons during all hours of library operations.

Eight of the workstations provide access to the following software: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher, WinWay Resume, LearnATest.com Library Test Preparation Web Site and Mavis Beacon Typing Tutor. Two of these workstations have Full Internet access, six have specialized database access only.

The twelve remaining workstations provide patrons with Internet access, LearnATest.com Library Test Preparation Web Site, the Texas SmartScape CD-ROM and databases including EBSCOhost, Dallas Morning News Archive, GaleNet (Contemporary Authors, other literary databases, and DISCovering Science) and the Dallas Public Library Catalog. Additional access to the Internet and the various databases is available on each floor of the Jonsson Library and at each branch library.
