Auxiliary of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers, Dallas Chapter

Historical Background

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Dallas Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers was founded in 1951.The 82 ladies who formed the group were wives of professional engineers. The group worked to foster fellowship amoung members, promote the field of engineering, provide scholarships for engineering students, and support some local charities. The group's activities include educational, social, and fund-raising events.

Scope and Contents

The collection is compromised of five scrapbooks compiled to record group activities for the years 1951-1986. Each volume contains correspondence, minutes, treasurer's reports, newspaper clippings, and photographs. The scrapbooks also contain yearbooks for each year, which list officers, committees, and general membership. Volumes II through V include copies of the Professional Engineer, the newsletter published by the Dallas Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.
