Guillaume Apollinaire. Si Je Mourais La-Bas. Paris: Louis Broder, 1962.

Gift of Mrs. Henry Yeager.
The poet Guillaume Apollinaire died of head wounds suffered during World War I, shortly after completing these poems about love and war. Some forty years later his friend, the noted artist Georges Braque, illustrated the poems with a series of woodcuts in a blend of cubist and traditional styles. Fifteen of the woodcuts are in color, and three are black and white images. This outstanding livre d’artiste or "artist’s book" is one of fifty copies with an extra suite of plates.
