Government Agencies:

• Energy Information Administration (EIA)
  Department of Energy agency that provides statistics, forecasts, and analysis for the oil and gas industry.
• Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)
  Department of Energy agency whose functions include regulation of the transmission of oil and the transmission and sale of natural gas.
• Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC)
  Organization representing the governors of 37 U.S. oil and gas producing states. Coordinates regulation of oil and gas, promotes conservation and recovery of oil and gas, and seeks to protect human and environmental health.
• Louisiana Department of Natural Resources – Office of Conservation
  State agency with primary statutory responsibility for regulation and conservation of Louisiana’s oil and gas resources.
• Minerals Management Service (MMS)
  U.S. Department of Interior agency responsible for managing offshore oil and gas leases, and for collecting revenue for federal offshore leases and onshore mineral leases on federal and Indian lands.
• New Mexico Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources Department – Oil Conservation Division (OCD)
  New Mexico state agency responsible for regulating the state’s oil and gas resources.
• Oklahoma Corporation Commission – Oil & Gas Conservation Division

• Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC)
  Responsibilities of this state agency include regulation of Texas’s crude oil and natural gas resources.
