The Oak Lawn Branch has been in existence at several locations for more than seventy five years. The current
location which opened in 1996 is the result of a partnership between the City of Dallas and Kroger, and the library and Kroger share a landsite and parking lot. The Oak Lawn Branch has a large number of Spanish language books, music compacts discs and DVDs as well as a definitive collection of materials of interest to the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender population.
Among the programs offered are programs for children and an English as a Second Language computer tutoring funded by a Community Development Block Grant from the Federal Government.:
