The Downtown Branch is the hub of the Central Library, including circulation services, the public computer reservation kiosk and staff dedicated to helping people navigate the many services of the Central Library and other reference questions.
The latest and most popular fiction and nonfiction titles are on the 1st Floor for easy browsing. Emphasis is on bestsellers and favorite authors of all genres in hardback, paperback, audiobook and large print formats.
The 1st Floor is also where you can find the largest selection of travel guides and high-interest magazines.
All circulation services for the Central Library are in the Downtown Branch, where users can check out items, pick up their hold requests, get a library card and ask other questions about their library card account.
The Homeless Engagement Initiative Help Desk and the City of Dallas Office of Vital Statistics are also located on the 1st Floor.
