Library Director

Manya Shorr serves as Director of the Dallas Public Library, bringing more than two decades of experience in library leadership and community-centered service. She previously served as Director of the Fort Worth Public Library for six years, where she championed innovative programs and expanded access to resources for a growing population.

Throughout her career, Manya has held leadership roles in library systems across the U.S., developing a broad perspective on how libraries can meet the evolving needs of diverse communities.

In recognition of her impact, Manya was named Librarian of the Year by the Texas Library Association in 2020. Most recently, she served as a certified executive coach in Japan, supporting library leaders in action planning and leadership effectiveness.
